I absolutely love love love the holiday season. We listen to Christmas music, decorate the house, and get our fill of eggnog. This year will be especially fun because my son is finally getting old enough to really enjoy himself and even though he won’t really understand the concept of Santa, he’ll definitely enjoy all the festivities.
Yet STILL every year there’s a bit of stress when it comes to getting last minute gifts, decorating in time for a gathering, boxing up cookies for everyone, actually baking all those cookies, and God forbid I’ve planned something crafty because then I’m really stressed. So every year my plan has been to get my shopping done early, cut back on the baking, and basically eliminate the craft attempts (your welcome, family). It hasn’t actually happened yet, but I try.
Needless to say, I was sooo excited when I heard that my blogging friend Christina over at Embracing Simple was planning a 21 day mini-course on savoring the holidays. I’m TOTALLY IN. This will be the first time I’ve tried the course, so I can’t speak from experience yet, but if you want to sign up yourself (it’s super cheap – $7.50 for two slots), here’s what she’s promising:
- daily email inspiration for the 21 days
- a lesson of the day in every email with actionable steps and tips for savoring every aspect of the holidays
- a pdf workbook with every lesson if you want to work at your own pace or reuse the lessons
- a free slot in the course to pass along to a friend
- lots of value, but with very little time commitment
Here’s more info on the course if you want to check it out for yourself: Savor the Holidays
I would love to experience that magical dream holiday season where we’re singing and dancing (with our eggnog) totally free of stress. I’m hoping this will help! Who knows, maybe this year it will happen. 🙂
What tips do you have for destressing during the holiday season?

I can’t wait to take the course. My favorite tip for de-stressing during the holidays is probably to just get out of the house and into the snow. My stress levels definitely go up when I’m stuck inside and realize that I haven’t left the house for a few days.
