I set out this year with a few different goals. One of them: Read more. I had been making a list of books I’d heard good things about, so when the New Year hit, I knew exactly which book I’d be starting with: The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. I even paid for it because I couldn’t find a free copy anywhere and I had a feeling about this one.
Holy Moly.
I’m a little nervous to even type these words, but I actually think that it was the best book I ever read. If I was going to be stranded on a deserted island and you laid The 4-Hour Workweek, Harry Potter, and The Miracle Morning in front of me and said I could only choose one…gulp…I’d pick The Miracle Morning.
- Anyone who is trying to accomplish anything.
- Entrepreneurs.
- Athletes.
- People that want to lose weight.
- People that want to quit their jobs.
- People that want to make more money.
- People that want to advance their careers.
I could add more to that list, but the first bullet is 100% true and really says it best: This book will help anyone who is trying to accomplish anything.
What really sets this book apart from other inspirational, uplifting reads is that it is ridiculously actionable. I would only get through a few pages before I would run off and do exactly what he was talking about in the book. I left this book with so many tools and tips that the transformation to my life has been immediate.
I don’t want to ruin it for you, but here’s the basic gist of the book (from my perspective):
You can transform your entire life by spending the first hour of every morning investing in yourself. That investment can mean different things for different people, but the tried-and-true method that works for most of us involves 6 different activities with 10 minutes spent on each. Each activity involves a different element of personal investment that will affect you in a different way.
Elrod reveals the 6 transformational elements immediately, so I wouldn’t be giving anything away by telling you what they are, but I don’t want to deprive you of finding out for yourself. 🙂 So go read The Miracle Morning! I promise, this is one of the best investments you’ll ever make.
