These business documentaries are sure to completely blow your mind! Sometimes reality really is crazier than fiction.

Banking on BitCoin

I know exactly what you’re thinking – I don’t really care about BitCoin.  But trust me,  Banking on BitCoin is an awesome documentary.

First of all, BitCoin is so much more than what is on the surface.  It has a lot to do with banking, big business, and even politics.

This documentary was such a pleasant surprise and definitely one of my top recommendations.  It’s definitely worth watching!

Betting on Zero

Betting on Zero was really interesting because you dive into to world of two totally different (and seemingly unrelated) industries – multi-level marketing and investment banking.

I don’t want to ruin it for you, but the documentary follows a prominent investment banker that is betting a whole lot of money that a successful multi-level marketing company is going to fail bigtime (let me remind you, this is real life!).

It’s a really interesting look at multi-level marketing and the investing side of it makes it extra interesting.  You will enjoy this one!

Becoming Warren Buffet

Becoming Warren Buffet might be my favorite business documentary of all time.

The premise is simple and straightforward – a look at the life and achievements of Warren Buffet. That may not sound too exciting, but somehow it is so, so, so inspirational!

Buffet is a brilliant man that was gifted with quite a few talents, but a lot of his achievements are also due to hard work and persistence, something we’re all capable of.

If you’re down and out about anything having to do with your career, this may be the perfect pick-me-up you’ve been waiting for!

The Founder

The Founder is technically not a documentary, but it is so good that I had to include it in this list.

It is the true story of the life of Ray Kroc – owner and “founder” of McDonald’s.

If you don’t know how McDonald’s rose to what it is, you need to watch this!  Ray Kroc himself is very inspirational and there are a lot of interesting business facts in this movie.

If you’re an entrepreneur trying to get something started, this flick is a must-watch!

The True Cost

The True Cost is one of my all-time favorite documentaries and oh boy, is it eye-opening.

We’ve all heard about sweatshops and cheap third world labor, but this puts things in a whole new light.

I didn’t even know what “fast fashion” was until I saw this movie.

This is a must-watch and will definitely change the way that you shop!

Requiem for the American Dream

Requiem for the American Dream is a business documentary that you can watch over and over again and learn something new every time.

The documentary is based off of (and narrated by) Noam Chomsky and his principles of the concentration of wealth and power.

It’s eye-opening, powerful, and sometimes disturbing.  But it’s most definitely a must-watch!

The Queen of Versailles

I can not get enough of this documentary!  This is as close to reality trash TV as you can get while still being a business documentary.

The Queen of Versailles was supposed to follow a prominent family as they build the largest house in America.

As luck (for us) would have it, this documentary took place during the real estate bubble, so you instead see what happened to one of the wealthiest timeshare owners in our country.

This is a riches-to-rags story that is both mind-boggling and entertaining.  Perfect for a relaxing night!

Poverty, Inc.

Poverty Inc is another eye-opening documentary that you really need to see.

It examines non-profits and charity organizations and the unintended consequences of the “help” we provide to impoverished nations.

Maybe all those free shoes weren’t what we thought they’d be…

The Big Short

The Big Short is definitely not a documentary. However…it is still a great movie that depicts the recent real estate bubble and financial crash that we all witnessed.

It does a great job explaining a lot of the concepts that are fairly complicated and shows just how insane everything really was.

It may technically be considered fiction, but you will get A LOT out of this and I promise, if you love business documentaries, you will love this!

The Secret

Ok, guys. I had to put this one on the list because it is my favorite.  I could (and do) watch The Secret over and over and over again.  It is SO inspirational!

If you can keep an open-mind, this documentary could change your life.  It is all about the law of attraction and how it impacts our lives.

It’s a good one!

I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!  If you’re in need of other suggestions, check out these other documentary lists:
