What if you could look at a picture of your dream life and in an instant it became your reality? It may seem far fetched, but there is tons of research suggesting it’s possible. Not to mention anecdotal evidence coming from some of the world’s most successful people. And once you know how to create a vision board, you’ll be one step closer to living your dream life just like they are.
Vision boards have a simple but amazing concept. If you visualize the life you want, then you’ll ultimately obtain it. They’re an amazing source of inspiration and motivation for basically any goal you could possibly have.
Here is how the classic vision board works: You gather pictures that embody the life you want to have and you create a collage of the images on a bulletin board. You should spend time looking over your vision board at least once a day and voila! You’ve got instant inspiration to achieve your dreams.
While creating the classic vision board is pretty easy, I’ve found that they don’t always look that great over time or they’re pushed aside as yet another unfinished project. This is a huge shame because they truly are very effective! So how do you create a vision board that is effective and inspiring? Follow some of these tips to ensure your success:
I set out this year with a few different goals. One of them: Read more. I had been making a list of books I’d heard good things about, so when the New Year hit, I knew exactly which book I’d be starting with: The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. I even paid for it because I couldn’t find a free copy anywhere and I had a feeling about this one.
Without a doubt, one of my absolute favorite times of year is the one little week sandwiched in between Christmas and New Year’s Day. The craziness of the holidays are over and I start to get really, really motivated for the year ahead. And hopefully you already know that I LOVE GOAL SETTING. So that’s basically what I spend the whole week doing…and not surprisingly, a lot of my goals tend to be financial ones. Then once I’ve settled on them, I work really, really, really hard to get them accomplished.
So as you start brainstorming ideas to tackle your own financial goals, use these tips and resources to get them totally accomplished this year:

In a few days I’m going to publish a post that will be full of resources and tips that will help accomplish your New Year’s resolution, no matter what it may be. I’ve been working on it for a while, and throughout the process I kept coming back to the same realization:
There’s really only one New Year’s resolution you need that will accomplish all other resolutions you may have.
I love this question. I know it sounds weird, but I ask myself all the time – What would you do with $10 million, Nikki? And then I make a list. Usually with a glass of wine after everyone’s gone to bed. I know it sounds indulgent, but it’s really not. In fact, I think it’s a really, really important question that everyone needs to ask themselves on a regular basis – What would you do with $10 million?
Why waste time imagining a life you don’t have, you ask?
I love, love, love things that save time and make life easier (who doesn’t?). I’m always on the lookout for cool gadgets, awesome life hacks, and basically anything that helps me get more things done with less time and effort. So it should come as no surprise that I’m a sucker for anything that enables you to automate your life. As the saying goes – set it and forget it!
Automation is one of the best way to build wealth, increase your productivity through the day, and now it even helps me clean the house (seriously!). Believe it or not, it’s also a great way to save money and just live a happier life.
So it’s time to share! These are all the ways that I automate my life…and a few extras that I should be doing (or wish I could do):
If you’ve already heard of Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, then you probably don’t think I’m crazy. Otherwise, I imagine you’re wondering why the heck you should spend your time reading a book about “tidying up.” Either way, I PROMISE you will absolutely love this book. While it is certainly 100% about cleaning up, it somehow manages to also be a truly inspirational book that promises to transform your life (i.e. by tidying up your home you will ultimately tidy up your problems).
