The Millionaire Next Door, by Thomas J. Stanley and William D. Danko, had been on my list forever. I had pushed it off because I thought it would be similar to the various other “tips to become wealthy” books, but I was totally wrong.
This book is an absolute must read for anyone that wants to be truly financially free or hopes to make a substantial amount of money in their lives…and it’s unlike any other book I’ve ever read.
In my attempt to read more books this year, I’ve come across some real winners and some ho-hum forgettables. Even a mediocre book can sometimes be a welcome break from reality, but what I really love is a book that is so exciting that I actually get an adrenaline rush when I’m reading it. And I’m not talking about the rush that comes with finding out who the killer is or a steamy romance scene. I’m talking about the rush from that AH-HA moment that makes you realize one small tweak to your life could help you achieve your next goal…or the moment you realize that you actually can quit your job and do what you love…or even just deciding what your next pursuit will be. THOSE moments are the best.
Ok, it’s probably no surprise to any of you that I love using my photography to make a little side income (I use Zazzle to do this, but there are other similar sites). It has been one of my favorite hobbies for a really long time and over the past few years it’s been a nice source of extra spending money.
I’ve written a few times about the different ways you can actually use Zazzle to make money from your photography (I’ll list them below for reference). But I thought it would also be worthwhile to tell you exactly why it is worth your time to add sites like Zazzle to your portfolio of hobbies and/or income sources. And more importantly, why you should be using your photographs (that you’re already taking!) to make some extra money.

We all know that there are a lot of ways these days to make money writing online. Some are obvious, like freelance work, but others have a bit of mystery involved. Hubpages falls into this category for most people, but it’s actually one of the best places to start. It’s also a great addition to the writing-for-income portfolio for anyone that writes for a living (or is trying to!).
I won’t lie, I came across Hubpages against my will. The site that I was happy writing for was sold to them and along with it, all of my content. As is often the case, however, it wasn’t long before I realized the earning potential on Hubpages way more. So as you can imagine, I’m a much happier writer now.

2014 was a major year for me and my family. I transitioned to being a stay-at-home parent, managed to keep my little one healthy and happy, re-adjusted to a traveling spouse – and of course, launched this blog.
I wouldn’t trade being home with my son for anything, but I also can not deny that I would probably go absolutely crazy if I did not have this blog to keep me mentally challenged and fulfilled. I still love business and the working world, so this has been my way to stay engaged and feeling adult-ish.
One of my absolute most favorite aspects of this blog is reading what everyone thinks and watching which posts get the most attention. I put a lot of thought and effort into each and every one, but it can still be very surprising to find out which are the most popular.
