If you’re looking for documentaries about the food you’re eating, you’ve come to the right place! But be forewarned, after you’ve seen these, you’ll never be able to eat the same way again! Luckily, that will most likely be for the better. Happy watching 🙂
I’m a total documentary junkie, so when I come across a good one that I love, I typically do what I can to find more like it. That is exactly what happened after I watched one of these (I’ve watched them each a few times so I can’t even remember which one was the first!). The greatest part about these specific documentaries is that they are bound and determined to very, very seriously change the way you eat. I’m not exaggerating – there’s just no way you can’t be affected by the messages in these movies.
So…if you’re looking for a way to jump start a diet, make a lifestyle change, lose weight, or are just in need of filling your Netflix queue, watch. these. documentaries. I’m telling you, you will be thinking differently once you’re done!
Whether you’ve got 20 minutes or 4 whole hours alone with your hubby, there’s no denying that sometimes all you want to do is zone out and watch a great show together. And in this day and age it’s unlikely that you’re sitting down at the same time each week catching a show right as it’s airing – because who’s got time for that? 😉
So the next time you’re in need of tv shows to watch with your wife or husband (that you’ll both love), just check out this list because I’ve done the research for you! All of these shows have been vetted by yours truly (along with my husband of course) and are without a doubt the best of the best.
You probably already know that I’m becoming an expert at what to do when your husband is traveling, so this post is probably not a surprise! And while I’d love to tell you that when the baby’s in bed I pull a book from my collection of classics, what I actually do on most nights is turn on the TV. 🙂
There’s a trick, however, to picking the right shows to watch when you’re home alone. This is not the time to catch up on Grey’s Anatomy or Private Practice. This is the time for no tears, female empowerment, light drama, the supernatural, and scandalous adventure (with of course as much romance as can possibly be squeezed in).
So here you have it – what to watch when you’re home alone (and by the way, these are all available on Netflix and/or Amazon Prime – so cut the cable bill to save yourself the money and you’ll feel even better about watching them): (more…)
When I came across Dan Harris’ book 10% Happier, I couldn’t wait to read it. I had been working on a follow-up post to one of my previous articles (10 Tricks for Staying Happy When Your Spouse is Traveling), so the timing couldn’t have been better. I hastily added myself to the waiting list at the library without reading the full title, so I had no idea what I was actually going to be reading about when my turn finally came. (more…)
My husband and I have been on a documentary kick lately so I’m branding myself as the newest expert on inspirational documentaries. We’ve only watched what’s available on Netflix, so I’m sure there may be some more out there, but these definitely stuck with us well after we were done watching.
We’re not a fan of sad flicks (sorry Blackfish fans), so we chose all of these because they honestly made us feel good after watching – they are truly documentaries that will change your life. If all goes well, we’ll pay off our mortgage, make a million dollars, give up sugar and meat, save the homeless, and fit all of our clothes into our closets. Maybe you’ll do the same! Good luck. 🙂 (more…)
